The loss of nutrients in the soil, and the overwhelming mass production of food almost guarantee you’re not getting the daily nutrition your body needs to thrive directly from the food you eat.

Consider these simple additions to your diet.* Many are incredibly affordable and take just a few seconds a day to include in your diet. Even when I don’t have time to eat “right”, or choose not to… I know my body is still getting all it needs.

Oh, if you’re curious… everything listed on this page … put together… costs me less than $1 per day

Are you dehydrated? $.01/day

I was made aware of this common issue through a video by Barbara O’Neill. She’s a naturopath living in Australia. You can learn details by watching her YouTube video here: Dehydration and a Simple Solution

Celtic Sea Salt has trace minerals and 3 types of magnesium which are critical for water absorption on the cell level. Barbara O’neill’s recommendation is working well for many people: Take a few grains of salt, chew them and follow with 1/2 a glass of water in the morning. Repeat this 2 or 3 times, 15 to 30 minutes apart as you prepare for your day.

Is your body too acidic? $.14/day

An acidic diet over long periods of time can contribute to many health issues. Its not an accident that the “healthiest” foods available include fresh vegetables that are overwhelmingly alkaline in nature.

A simple way to tip the acid/alkaline balance in your favor is to add lemon juice to your water several times a day. I buy pure organic juice in a 32 oz. bottle. It lasts several months. On Amazon: Lemon Juice

Are you getting enough trace minerals? $.25/day

Trace minerals from natural sources can be a challenge to find. A compound from Tibet offers an incredibly effective solution. It’s called Shilagit. While it’s considered a luxury by some, I feel great having it in my daily supplement routine.

Promising research suggests that Shilajit could safeguard brain health from neurodegenerative diseases. (Andrade et al, 2023) Additional studies have identified compounds in Shilajit as protective for bone density (Pingali et al, 2022) and the immune system (Winkler, 2018). There are many studies underway to explore additional health benefits of this natural resin.

Shilagit I like available through Amazon: Shilagit

Are you getting enough Vitamin D? $.11/day

I like what Dr. Eric Berg has to say on this subject. See his YouTube video (among many) here: Vitamin D Benefits

A good reasonably priced Vitamin D3 plus K2 supplement can be found on Amazon. Vitamin D3-K2

Is managing blood sugar balance naturally important to you? $.10/day

A remedy that has been around a long time for balancing blood sugar is Apple Cider Vinegar. Researchers at Arizona State University found that drinking one or two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar before a high carbohydrate meal significantly improved blood sugar regulation in people with Type 2 diabetes. (Johnston et al, 2004)

Braggs has been around for quite awhile. Recent rumors of GMOs in their product are dis-information. For its many possible cleansing benefits, it is incredibly reasonable: Apple Cider Vinegar

Do you have enough antioxidants in your diet? $.36/day

Many studies show free radical damage on a cellular level can contribute to chronic inflamation. Sub clinical inflamation can contribute to many long term health issues. We can combat free radical damage by eating a wide variety of vegetables and fruits. They contain high levels of antioxidants.

One simple way to ensure you have more than enough anti-oxidants when you don’t eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables every day is to take supplements. I like organic super green foods to fill this gap. They also provide important phytonutrients that are often missing from foods we buy, either because of soil degradation or by processing foods too much.

I rest easy because I have the nutrition benefit of 15-18 servings of vegetables each day, whether I eat vegetables or not. (which I do, by the way)

My go to Super Green Food is available on Amazon: Super Greens

One reason I like this is because a single bottle has 108 servings. Most products similar to this only go for 30 days. It’s a tremendous value for a high quality product.

I used to play in a symphony as a violinist. The violin is a unique because it has not changed shape for more than 350 years. About 20 years ago, I came across a nutrition blend that has stood the test of time in a similar way. Nothing does all of it together as well as this does.

It has all the nutrients needed for energy on the cell level, some cool things to dial down the inflamation response including aloe and age old, respected stuff for mental clarity and focus. I keep it around because it’s awesome… though it bumps one past the dollar a day ideal that is a theme on this page, so it’s extra. 🙂 On Amazon: Univera Xtra
